Thank you so much for making this event a success for our students and the people of North Texas that are in need.

Calling all SCIS parents!  We need volunteers to help the SCIS PTO on May 27th.  Numana is a service learning program and will be a service event held in the SCIS gym for all 5th and 6th graders, including in classroom and virtual students.

They’ll be packaging 20,000 meals that will be sent to people in need in the North Texas area. There will be a shift before school to help unload the trucks of supplies and set up packing stations. There will be another shift of volunteers leading a packing station and assisting with replenishing supplies.  It is welcomed and encouraged for you to sign up for both shifts if your schedule allows.

Click the Sign up Genius link below to volunteer.  Then scroll down and complete the district background check.

Click on the district link to conduct your background check which is required to volunteer.  This takes a few days to complete, so please fill it out by May 21, 2021.

Congratulations to the Outstanding Service Award Winners
Nurse Michelle Countryman and Lety Salazar

Michelle Countryman

Nurse Countryman with Principal Ray Winkler

Michelle Countryman is a perfect example of a person who has gone above and beyond this year and given outstanding service to our children and staff.  She has not only dealt with all the normal issues a school nurse encounters on a daily basis, but had so much more to handle because of the pandemic.

Nurse Countryman has worked hard to keep students and staff safe through  continued research on latest health guidance and protocols, increased  communications,  monitoring of students, and counseling for parents.  This large workload and increased paperwork has meant late nights and early mornings for her.  She has done all this while trying to keep her own family safe and managing their daily needs too.

She has been an incredible support for our community and has made herself available whenever needed.  Nurse Countryman has been a beacon of light in a challenging year.

Lety Salazar

Lety Salazar with Principal Ray Winkler

For six years, Lety has spent immense time and effort contributing to the Lovejoy community and has gone above and beyond her role in the PTO this year.  She has brought passion and consistency to all her efforts to help our community.

She has worked with the school counselor to help families in our district who are in need.  Lety has been a key advocate to finding new ways to support teachers and staff during this unique year.   Her genuine selflessness and can-do positive attitude is balanced by true humility.

She can be counted on to help no matter the ask.  She has great commitment to supporting teachers, and tireless devotion to the mission of excellence.  She does it all with a smile which truly reflects what it is to be an outstanding Lovejoy Leopard.

Thank you to these two amazing ladies for their tireless efforts and devotion to Sloan Creek and the Lovejoy community.
